This is a little experimental but it seems like fun. Instead of posting lame news that you all already know, I figured this might be a little more interesting. Everyone loves a good monster. Everybody loves to hate bad monsters. Therefore, monsters are awesome. It only makes sense to start with this guy here. If you don't recognize him...how the hell did you find this website? He was never given a proper name, or introduction...or proper anything at all really. We here at The Underground have taken a liking to the name "Grayballs". Don't ask, it's a forum thing.

What's His Story?
Good question. He came out of the ocean. That's for certain. Grayballs has been asleep for millions of years and was disturbed by a deep sea drilling station on the mid-atlantic ridge owned by fictional Japanese super-corporation, Tagruato. OR, it's entirely possible that he fell from space and landed in the ocean miles off the coast of Coney Island approximately a month prior to the events in the film "Cloverfield". Of course, if the latter is true then it can easily be implied that Grayballs is not the only one of his kind. Anyways, what IS certain is the fact that Grayballs eventually made his way to New York City. Thus transpired the events we all witnessed in "Cloverfield". He's also got fairly large insect-esque creatures all over his body, similar to fleas on a dog. Except these fleas are dog sized and cause people bitten by them to explode.

Appearance?

Surprisingly lanky for a monster. He almost has a "newborn horse" thing going on. Hind legs resemble some kind of hybrid between a frog and an insect. It's "arms" are almost spider-like, ending in 3 long fingers. The head is very "Lovecraftian" looking. Reminds me of Cthulhu in some odd way. There are two inflatable sacs where ears are typically found. Their purpose is unknown, but it's possible that they act as gils or amphibian lungs of some kind. Most interesting are several very strange appendages found on the abdomen of the creature. At first glance they appear to be smaller arms, but it has been reported by someone linked with the film that they are in fact tubes used to consume prey. WOW. Also note worthy is the fact that it's skin is able to withstand heavy weapon-fire without even the slightest sign of damage.

His Future?
As of this moment, it is unclear as to whether or not Grayballs survived the attack on NYC. However, a manga series released in Japan tells of the events of a very similar monster attacking the land of the rising sun and eventually receding back into the ocean, only to be subject to the strangest event I have ever seen a monster go through. I can only describe the event as something similar to the budding of sea-sponges. Make of it what you will. I very much hope that a future film(s?) will give us a better understanding of these creatures.
